Versailles Restaurant, Miami’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant

Billing themselves as “The World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant”, the Versailles features popularly on social media seems to live up to the hype. At the cafe window and bakery, order a Cortadito Con Leche Evaporada for $1 to $1.25, a sweetened espresso that is uniqely Cuban. The locals advise to chase the coffee with a glass of water after to temper the caffine high. Fresh squeezed orange juice is available from the advacent Versailles Bakery along with ice cream and cuban pastries.

Restaurant is family friendly and no reservations are required especially for the capacity available but recommended on weekends. We ordered a Mojito – a cuban cocktail of mint, cane sugar for $7 – (it was average). Entrees were generously portioned and flavourful. The whole red snapper is fresh as the restauran goes through a large volume of orders of this entree – our snapper got lots of attention from surrounding diners. Was it good? That entree was done in no time – here’s the aftermath.

Good service, lives up to the reputation. Versailles is about a 40 minute drive via i95 into Miami near the Miami International Airport. Plan to start or end a day perhaps in little havana at the restaurant.
